Within integrated terminal, mobilT offers:

  • Integrated GPS receiver;
  • Tracking functionality
  • Messaging
  • Flexible external data interfaces;
  • Range of data rates up to 9.6 kbps;
  • Nominal packet size 50 bytes;

The mobilT is used in conjunction with the THISS Satellite Communications Network, which offers unprecedented value for money, so providing for High Frequency Low Cost Long Range Reporting (HFLC) applications including remote messaging/tracking solutions. Key features of the network include unique system re-broadcast capability which allows for data to be easily re-transmitted in quasi-real time over the satellite link to remote units.

Why Streamsat - Prima

Using the latest in terminal technology, the Streamsat - Prima uses an innovative antenna concept to provide support to a small sized terminal which can operate over existing C band satellites. The terminal can be easily pole mounted and is fully marinised The Streamsat - Prima transmission scheme uses proven IP technologies to provide range of flexible services.

The Streamsat - Prima terminal and service is designed to operate with a range of maritime and terrestrial mobile applications with flexibility to address specific service features and requirements. The Streamsat - Prima is currently configured to support GPS position reporting, telemetry, and messaging applications. These include innovative satellite re-broadcast features, where data can be intelligently processed at a Gateway and then re-broadcast in quasi-real time to remote sites. The network will be upgraded in the future to support other services including standard E-mail, and FTP applications.

The Mariner Terminalhas been developed in conjunction with TerraVision for Fisheries applications and services using the TerraVision Vessel Management System (VMS) Gateway.
