Spread spectrum burst satellite modem with built-in IP router
The CBM-03L product is a spread spectrum burst satellite modem, with built-in IP router.
The spread spectrum aspect of its operation allows the use of 'smaller than traditional' antennas at the terminal (remote site), and the burst aspect of its operation enables networks to be designed which employ both TDMA and CDMA techniques, to share satellite bandwidth in a cost-effective manner.
The CBM-03L is highly configurable in terms of the waveforms it can transmit and receive;
- Chip rates from 50kcps to 2Mcps
- Spreading factor any integer from 2 to 32
- Turbo-coding rates 1/2, 1/3, and 1/4
- Burst durations from 20ms to 500ms
The CBM-03L is a 1U rack-mountable unit, with L-band transmit and receive IF interfaces. Provision of DC and reference 10MHz for direct connection to LNB and BUC is supported.
For modem/router monitoring and control, the CBM-03L supports both a web-based GUI interface, and a front-panel LCD interface.
